The outpouring of love was overwhelming. Susie MacNelly, who has known Pellegatta “for a million years” says as a result “he has never been happier, never felt better. His attitude about everything is really upbeat even when things don’t thrill him. He has a take on life that he never had before. And he can transfer that sense of intimacy to others through his pictures.”
“When you go to a dark place like that, you come out of it seeing what a beautiful world this is,” Pellegatta says. “The singular thing I really enjoy about photography is to be able to share those private moments with other people, things other people don’t see.”
