In a separate suit, O’Connell is requesting that he be given the “authority to terminate. the employment of an employee, even though that employee is a director and 50 percent shareholder of the corporation.”
Simply put, O’Connell would like to retain running of the Inn and fire his partner, Reinhardt Lynch.
While the papers have been on file at the courthouse since May, it was believed by employees there that the papers had not been officially served to the defendant - in this case, Reinhardt Lynch. “It’s unusual,” said county clerk Diane Bruce. “There hasn’t been anything since these original documents. It indicates to me that they are working toward a negotiation.”
But reportedly the papers have been served.
“That’s not true,” said O’Connell’s attorney, David Fiske. “We took care of serving them ourselves - attorney to attorney who also added that Lynch had not filed any response.
Fiske reiterated that “whatever happens, it won’t effect the Inn.”
Nor is it likely to effect the ongoing roles that both partners have played in the community.
