Mary Ann Kuhn, owner of the Middleton Inn, has known Patrick and Reinhardt since she opened her bed and breakfast 11 years ago.
“Of course many people are wondering what impact, if any, this will have on the town. At the same time, you have to be realistic and look at what Patrick and Reinhardt have achieved over the past three decades establishing a first class inn and restaurant that consistently wins every top award in the country and puts Washington, Va., on the map. A lot of hard work, sacrifice and diligence went into that effort all those years. They are not going to do anything to harm this special “child” they created or the town that they love. They have invested themselves in it so much, both personally and professionally,” said Kuhn.
