County administrator John McCarthy is empathic with the ongoing situation and the fate of the two partners that he has come to know well through the years.
“The County is certainly distressed to see so prominent a local business undergoing such a leadership struggle. The Inn has been a remarkable engine for local enterprise and economic development both in the Town of Washington and the County for a quarter century. We hope that they emerge from this dispute stronger and more successful than ever,” said McCarthy
Eugene Leggett is not only mayor of the Town of Washington but a patron of the Inn and good friends with the owners. Leggett has served together with both of them in the interests of the town.
