Jan. 10: Hike
The Ragged Mountain Resource Center is coordinating a moonlight hike of Old Rag Mountain on Saturday. Jan. 10, weather permitting. Interested participants should meet at 5 p.m. at the upper parking lot “Ridge Trail' trail head for Old Rag. which is accessed via Route 231 and then by following the brown SNP signs for Old Rag. This is a beautiful yet strenuous hike, and is not recommended for novice hikers. A snackJunch. water and layerable clothing are recommended. If weather conditions are not clear, or it is precipitating, the hike will likely be canceled, or possibly rescheduled. There will be several Moonlight Hikes of Old Rag and possibly White Oak Canyon and Mary's Rock throughout the winter, and , updates will be posted on Rappnet and in the Rappahannock News. There will be a free workshop about Beginning Beekeeping offered to youths ages 5 -18 on Saturday. Jan. 10 from 12:30 - 4:30 p.m.. at the Culpeper County Extension Office.
