The Theatre at Washington, Virginia presents “An Evening of Country Music” with the popular singer, Lisa Meadows, on Saturday, Feb. 28 at 8 p.m.
This is Meadows’ first solo performance at the Theatre, where she will entertain with a variety of popular country songs. She is already well known to the Theatre’s audience as the pretty and vivacious singer who has performed with Cooter’s Garage Band.
On the stage of the Grand Ole Opry Meadows has sung with the band and Ben Jones, John Schneider, and the cast of the “Dukes of Hazzard.” She also sang at the famous “Nashville Palace” where the owner commented, “She is the best kept secret in Nashville.”
In addition to singing with Cooter’s Garage Band, Meadows is a member of “Shenandoah Jubilee” and the “Pony Express Band,” and performs throughout the Piedmont region.
Other highlights of her 18-year career include opening shows for such artists as Kenny Chesney and Neil McCoy, singing at “Duke’s Fest 06” for a record crowd of more than 100,000 and, recently, singing with “Jimmy Fortune and Skyline Drive.”
In July 2008, in Hollywood, Meadows won the Gold Medal for Country Music when she competed against 41 countries as a member of the U.S. team at the World Championships of the Performing Arts. Also in 2008, she had her first charting song, which was played by DJs all over the world.
