Local authors Brian and Janet Stoppee of Washington love to talk about photography. Their enthusiasm is contagious.
The couple have recently moved back to Rappahannock from Richmond, and have also recently published their book, "Stoppees’ Guide to Photography and Light - What Digital Photographers, Illustrators, and Creative Professionals Must Know."
This Saturday, at the Griffin Tavern in Flint Hill from 24:30 p.m., the Stoppees will sign copies of their book and also offer “oneon-one” discussions for photography enthusiasts.
The book is a culmination of three years’ work and is for “everyone from basic photo hobbyists to seasoned professionals," said the Stoppees in a press release.
Brian, 53, has been a photographer since first using a camera at age 14, which he said, “is a great deal of fun.”
Their core business, said Stoppee in an interview earlier this week, has been stock photography, a growing industry in a “need it right now” digital world. Their media company, M2 Media Studios, Inc. is building a large stock photo library. They are also putting together a 29 city tour for photography workshops at large venues around the country.
“Today, so much photography is needed right now. People can buy, download and get into layout an hour later.”
