Officials for Saturday’s Casanova Hunt Point-toPoint held their collective breath until noon on Monday when entries Closed for the Feb. 21 event.
Uncertain economic times have been affecting all corners of Virginia and the nation at large, and officials were unsure if entries would reflect the trend.
Turns out., they need not have worried, too much — the traditional Virginia point-to-point season kick-off attracted entries strong enough to flesh out a full eight-race card, with more race-day starters possible, as the entry box

Courtney Izgan IVrton of Sperryville will exhibit Angus cattle at the 2009 Mid-Atlantic •Junior Angus Classic (MAJAC) Regional Preview .Junior .Angies Show in Harrisonburg March 13-15, according to the American Angus Association.
Courtney Iaigan. a junior member of the American .Angus Association, is one of 190 young persons from 10 states who have entered a total ol 244 Angus to compete' for championship honors.
Bruce Kiesewetter, Letts, Iowa, will judge divisions for bred-and-owned heifers and bulls, owned heifers, cow-calf pairs and staves. An Angusbased steer show is also held.
The MAJAC show is sponsored by the American Angus Association and the Northern Virginia Junior Angus Association. It is one of eight junior Angus shows the national organization sponsors each year for its nearly 7.IKK) active junior Angus m*-oliers in Die United^taaes.
