Heritage House Bed & Breakfast, located in the town of Washington, is one of three houses featured on this year’s House Tour and Dried Flower Sale Oct. 17 and 18.
“This house is full of memories for many of the locals.”
That is how Michelle Schwartz, owner of the Heritage House Bed and Breakfast with her husband Gary, feels after seven years of living in Washington and hearing the memories of passersby and occasional strangers who knock on the door of the distinctive house at 291 Main Street.
A black and white picture, donated by one such visitor, shows the home in the 1950s featuring a tiny sign that advertises “Rooms for Guests.” The visitor asked that the picture be placed where it hung when his grandparents owned the house, and you can find it there right now, on the front wall, inside the door.
Gary and Michelle, then, are continuing an old tradition of hospitality in Heritage House, which sometimes brings excitement, as they have several times hosted
