ON EXHIBIT: Jim Ramsay's abstract painting, Lavender Blue,' is part of his exhibit Oct. 3-31 at Middle Street Gallery in Washington.
Ramsay describes “Lavender Blue,” one of the 15 paintings in his October show as “almost the only abstract painting I’ve ever done in my life” and a precursor to what may be his future direction. He says it came to him in a “lucid dream” in which he entered a gallery and saw a beautiful painting, and he remembers saying, “I could do that!”
