charges would likely be filed against the driver, a 17-year-old student at RCHS, who with smother 16-year-old student passenger escaped serious injury in the 2:15 a.m. crash on Whorton Hollow Road near Castleton.
Attempts in the last week to reach Logan’s parents, Mike and Kimberly McKieman of Sperryville, were unsuccessful.
McKiernan was a well-liked junior, wrestler and football player at the high school. On a Facebook page created by friends after his death, friends and family continued through last week to post messages, most of them addressed directly to Logan.
An Oct. 29 entry by his mother reads: “I miss you so much. I can’t stand it. I don’t know what to do without you. We are all lost. Aidan [Logan’s 8-year-old brother] misses you so much. Even Ripley [the family dog] misses you! How do we go on like this? Without you . . , We love you Logan.”
