Area visitor centers

Though it varies, surrounding jurisdictions all outspend Rappahannock County on t< mrism and visitor centers.

These range from the Front RoyalAVarren County Visitor Center's five paid staff and annual budget of $300,000. paid by the town of Front Royal with the proceeds of lodging taxes, to the modest $56,691 that Madison County contributes to the Chamber of Commerce there, which staffs the visitor center (though not up to state certification levels).

Culpeper’s visitor center is also staffed and run by the local chamber, with about $100,000 contributed by the town of Culpeper this fiscal year - but, unlike in Madison, the Culpeper chamber doesn’t restrict the information it disseminates to that of chamber members.
