Nothing except politeness, that is; the RNPC’s proposal submitted for tomorrow’s Tourism Partners meeting (see the story on Al) says the organization put its plans on hold when another proposal became known. In the same document, it notes that its already high visitor drop-in rate affords it to wait indefinitely for state certification - meaning highway signage, a feature not only “guaranteed” but much needed by the competing proposal, which is not visible from the county’s main U.S. highway.
Here’s hoping that the Tourism Partners, and later the Board of Supervisors, can marshall enough cooperation among Rappahannock’s many vibrant camps and communities to reach consensus on how best to show off that vibrancy and depth to visitors.
