Departing chief
Speaking of hightailing out of here, longtime local Fire Chief Todd Brown was sent off in grand fashion when he stepped down from office to support his wife Sandy in her career move to the big island of Hawaii. A banquet was held in his honor on Sept 12 at the Chester Gap Volunteer Fire Department to celebrate his 25 years of service to the department with many of those years spent as chief.
Todd has been a huge influence on several of the department’s members who have progressed up through the ranks since joining as junior members - including me - and will most definitely be missed by not only the department but also the community at large
The fact that every chair in the banquet hall was in use even while some folks were on the porch speaks to the fact of just how many people’s lives
