It was RNPC’s plan to open a visitor center in October at The Link - at no cost to the county, open and staffed by volunteers Fridays through Sundays - that prompted the supervisors to turn the matter over to the Tourism Partners.
At its meeting Nov. 2, after word got out that it might “approve” a visitor center at The Link, the board watched as the room filled - mostly with members of the Washington Hospitality and Visitors Association (WHVA), which had made its members aware of a second proposal to build a visitor center and suggested the board might be acting without all the facts.
