The number pounds of feed ane dozen eggs wjll buy (egg-jfeed ratio) decline from 12 last May to 7.2 pounds for May of this year. According to D. Upton Livermore, Poultry Madkeftmg Specialist, this is about as low as it is likely to get. Pullet numbers for layer replacements are expected to decline from last year, hence a better relationship should exist later in 1950.
Mr. Livermore suggests further that you poultrymen do a good job of culling this summer and stay in the business. Periods like this have always been followed by a more profitable period as reflected by the (relationship between the price of feeds and eggs.
