Dr. W. S. Newman, president of VPI, has been named banquet speaker.
Other features of the program will be lectures and demonstrations of analysis of seed by French, Miss Jennie S. Jones, and C. M. Bass, of the State Department of Agriculture; and a weed and crop seed identification contest, conducted by W. C. White, of the VPI agronomy department.
Speakers for the second day’s sessions include: S. B. Fenne, J. O. Rowell, J. M. Amos, and Dr. Wesley P. Judkins, all of the VPI staff; S. F. Grubbs and M. W. Hudson, Crep Improvement Association.
Earl H. Wetsel, Harrisonburg, president of the Virginia Seedsmen’s Association, will conclude the morning program with an evaluation of the short course.
The school is being sponsored by the agronomy department at VPI, the State Department of Agriculture, and the Virginia Seedsmen’s Association.
