ine ^Uipeper vuiunvter r ire Company is composed of 42 men who give their time whenever they are needed. They are a valuable asset to the entire county. They now have four pieces of equipment—two of which are practically worn out. To serve the county more efficiently, they feel the necessity of replacing these two old trucks, and to do this they need money. The proceeds of the fair are to be used for that purpose.
The plans for this two-day fair are really ambitious, and for its success the Ladies Auxiliary to the Fire Company is really calling on the entire county.
There will be attractions for everyone. Starting off on Friday morning at ten o’clock there will be an auction sale. The other attractions will open at five o’clock that day. They will include a country store where you will find most anything you iwant—a flower stand—a handiwork booth, a post office full of surprise packages, refreshment and sandwich booths, for the children, a grab
the fair will be open all day, closing that night with a cake walk and a square dance.
Keep these days, August 4th and 5th open, and bring the family to Culpeper. ‘Watch for further announcements.

DUPLICATE PRIZES GIVEN AT DOMINION GAS OPENING
Hitting it plumb on the dot) with a guess of 318 pounds, Mrs. . Harriet Green Fore of Culpeper won the first prize in the contest put on by the Dominion Gas and Supply Company when they opened their new headquarters in the Geest building, last week end.
Two second prizes had to be awarded for G. William Mitchell, Culpeper’s county treasurer, wrote his guess on the weight of one of the gas ranges on display at 317 pounds, and Mrs. Jennaphar S. Jones of Lignum guessed 319.
Three third prizes were given for the guess of 320 pounds: Miss Mary Stevens Jones, Miss Violet E. Smith, and Richard Herbert.
