Schedule for next week:
Flint Hill 4-H Club will meet at the home of Mrs. Lewis, July 17, starting at 10:00 a.m., and lasting all day. At this meeting there will be a contest to choose the person doing the best work in sewing and the person doing the best work in cooking.
Sperryville 4-H Club will meet at the home of Mrs. Lucio Kilby, July 18th at 2 p.m. We will meet here for the purpose of going swimming. Hope all of you will be able to attend.
Flint Hill H.D. Club will meet at the home of Miss Ruth Stevens, July 18th starting at 7:30 p.m. The demonstration will be on “Salad Making.”
Amissville H.D. Club will meet at the home of Mrs. C. C. Zinn, July 10th starting at 10:00 a.m. There will be a contest held at this meeting to pick a winner in clothing and foods. In the afternoon the club will go on an outing.
Slate Mills H.D. Club will meet at the home of Mrs. C. M. Ramey, July 13th, at 7:30 p.m. The demonstration will be on “Salad Making.”
A 4-H County Contest to be held June 20. All winners of the club contest will meet at the Washington Fire House, at 1:30 p.m. with their leaders and compete against each other. The winners of this County Contest will compete against other counties July 27 in an area contest at Madison. The 4-H leaders have been doing a wonderful job this summer with the different clubs in the county. I would like to recognize ithem in this issue to let you know who they are: Mrs. Stanley Williams and Mrs. Marie Willibms of Chester Gap, Mrs. Pearl Mills and Mrs. Lewis Harrison of Huntly, Mrs. Barbara Gentry and Mrs. Frank Cary of Flint Hill, Mrs. Katherine Riley and Mrs. Graham Hackley of Amissville, Mrs. Carson Anderson and Mrs. Edna Wayland of Washington, Mrs. Lucio Kilby of Sperryville, Miss Annie Perry of Belle Meade, and Mrs. Doris Coughlin and Mrs. Clarence Scott of Forest Grove.
Woodville H.D. Club will meet at the home of Mrs. R. M. Johnsoh July 21, starting at 2 p.m. The demonstration will be on “Salad Making.”
The Washington Hbme Demonstration Club met July 25, at the Fire House. The program for 1951 was tentatively made up by this club at this meeting. It was decided to give a picnic for the youth in this community August 10. Then a demonstration was given by the agent on “Salad Making.” Five salads were made and tasted by all present. Mrs. Irvin Sisk brought with her most delicious refreshments.
Mrs. Lewis Harrison was hostr ess to the Huntly H.D. Club July 6. The club is going to give the youth and 4-H members of their community a picnic in August, the date is to be decided later. The! ladies present stenciled some very lovely trays, two )red and two black trays were completed. Then the hostess served delicious cake and iced coffee.
