It wo Accidents Occur
Near Amissville
Leon Hackley, Howard Hackley, and John Settle, of the Amissville neighborhood, were in automobile accidents Sunday and Monday.
Loen Hackley, son of Mr. and Mrs. L. E. Hackley, had his new Mercury torn up Sunday near Jefferson when he skidded into the rear of another car. The accident occurred during the heavy rainstorm of the late evening and Hackley lost control of the auto on the wet pavement and jammed into the rear of the car ahead. Hackley was not injured but the front end of his new car was demolished. ~ '
Monday afternoon near Estes the auto of John Setle missed a turn, skidded, and overturned several times. Johnny Settle, son of Brew Settle, suffered a broken collar-bone and several cuts. He was taken to Charlotesville to the hospital.
Howard ^Hackley, son of Jack Hackley of Amissville, suffered cuts but was released from the hospital and returned home.
An eye witness to the accident reported that ,'when he looked* both of the boys were tf lying through the air; one of them hit the ground and bounced. The boys were fortunate in that the over-, turning car did not roll on them.
