Mr. and Mrs. James M. Settle had as their dinner guests Sunday Mrs. R. J. Petersen, of Washington, D.C., Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Miller, Evelyn Tyler Miller, and Mr. and Mrs. G. Tyler Miller, of Harrisonburg. Mrs. John J. Miller returned home with Mr. and Mrs. Tyler Miller for a stay of ten days.

Mr. and Mrs. D. D. Miller had as their guests Thursday evening for bridge and canasta, at their home “Maple Spring,” Mrs. J. W. Price, Mrs. Elizabeth DeBergh, Mrs. Charles Bruce, Mrs. Frank Moffett, Mrs. George H. Davis, Jr., Mrs. T. C. Lea, Mrs. Lewis Turner, Mrs. Wade H. Massie, Jr., Mrs. J. E. Keyser, Mrs. Z. H. Sealock, and Mrs. R. E. Wood. Prizes in bridge were awarded to Mrs. Moffett, high; Mrs. Sealock, low. Those playing canasta were J. E. Keyser, Jr., Mrs. C. L. Waldron, of New York, Miss Mary M. Wood and Mrs. Downing Wood. The prize for canasta iwas cut for by the players, Mrs. Waldron won s'»high; Mrs. Downing Wood, low.
