Sperryville School New*
In the poster contest, which was a part of the Fire Prevention Program put on by Mrs. Ann Keyser’s 6th grade, the following persons were winners:
Grades 1 through 4—Hugh.Atkins, 1st; Buddy Devers, 2nd; Shirley Brown, 3rd; and Wallace Nethers honorable mention.
Grades 6, 6, and 7—Frances Walker, 1st; Georgia Standish, 2nd; Jacob Sisk, 3rd; and honorable mention to Becky Jones, Lillie Corbin, Thelma Hawkins, and Dolen Romine.

There were seventy-three children from the schools throughout the county who attended the first day of the eye clinic held at the Sperryville Elementary School. Eighteen of these did not need glassas, ten did not show op for the final examinations, and the remaining sixty-three were fitted with glasses. Mrs. Frances Thornton, County Nurse helped with the clinic.

The Hallowe’en program at the Sperryville Elementary School will be held Tuesday night, October 31 at 7:30. The Hill-Billy Minstrel which was given by the Sperryville Fire Company Auxiliary at ' the Rappahannock Fair, will be presented again with added attractions by the children of the SperTyville school.
There will also be games; cake walks, huckly-buck, grab bag, and all kinds of goodies to eat—hot dogs, pop corn, cider,* cookies, and candy. A ( $1 cash prize will be fctvenj, for> thp bSst costume and a $1 cash prize will also be given for the most ridiculous costume.
Admission to the minstrel will be 15c and 25c.
