Have Dutch Visitors
Four Dutch visitors were in the county last Thursday on • study tour of tfte apple packing plants at Sperryville and Flat Woods.
The guests were A. W. van d Bplassche, director of horticulture; T. W. van Soest, advisory officer for horticulture; M. Toardekooper, assistant to the censoral bureau of auctions; and. K. J. Bos, chief editor for the Netherlands Fruit Growers Agriculture.
Their visit consisted in observation of the working order of the co-operatives. They appeared more interested in the organization and production than in the produce. Being government officials, their interests were not like those of the French delegation which visited the plants some weeks ago. The French group included some orchardists and farmers, and these were as interested in the product as well gs production management.
Previous visits have been made by a German and a Dane. The sociability of the occasion was marred with the Frenchmen on a language barrier, when most of the conversation had to go through an interpreter, but the German’s English was sufficient to enable conversation. The Dane appeared to fit into the community better than any of the foreign visitors, and the people of the neighborhood kept him overtime on his visit and regretted seeiing him leave. - ,
