Hallowe'en

The youngster's holiday of ■pooka and witches is upon us. *Tia the season for weird figures, to appear at your door stating ■“trick or treat."

Hallowe'en seems to have run • season of behavior. There was • time when the dreaded night was a time of sitting up to protect property from vandalism and all forms of plain malicious destruction; then there came a time when sadism entered the picture, and even dumb animals were tortured and mistreated. Today the season is turned over to the children and it consists mostly of -the little folks dressing up in ugliest of costumes and a few of the older children getting into small amounts of mischief. There is practically no destruction or breaking of property. The youngsters seem to have a better sense of respecting other folks' property, and they get their energies expended in parties and games rather than settling on pranks that cause trouble and worry to someone else.
