Other consignors having 90% or better of their calves sold grad* ing “good" or better were: Ray T. Cannon, J.'W. Fletcher, George C. Ramsey, J. R. Brown, C. E. Johnson, Jr., J. S. Buckner, R. M. Menefee, W. C. Campbell, Guy Marlow, and Aspendale Farm (Thomas E. Hughes).
In fact, 100% of the calves sold by the following graded good or better: George Ramsey, 41 head;C. E.Johnson, 10 head ; J. S. Buckner, 2 head; and Aspendale 12 head.
Buyers were from Pennsylvania, Maryland, New Jersey, Virginia, and West Virginia, with the largest number of calves, 270 head, going to Pennsylvania. Eighty-one heifers returned to Rappahannock.
Mt. Ida Farm, Huntly, which is managed by. James E. Tates, was: the largest consignor with a total of 91 head. Dolmoni Farm, near Washington, owned by W. B. Dolph and managed bjr C. C* Zinn, was second largest corlsignor with 50 head. James W. Fletcher consigned 48 head.
Earl Combs, .who recently purchased the Quaintance Farm near Woodville, was the largest buyer, purchasing 56 head of heifers to be used in establishing a new herd.
Top price of the sale was $41.50 per cwt. paid for a single choice heifer weighing 405 lbs. which was consigned by George Ramsey of Front Royal and purchased by a Mr. Carr of Virginia. Heifers also tied for second high of $40 per cwt. when two lots sold at this figure to Mr. Carr (9) and the other lot of six went to a Maryland buyer.
