The 1950 Rappahannock Angus Breeders Feeder Calf Sale averaged $34.11 per hundred-weight for a total of 581 head. Of this number 77.96% graded good or better. (While a comparable figure is not available on other Virginia sales, the graders reported the Rappahannock sale the first graded up to that date wherein the quality was .better than last year’s consignment and the graders themselves admitted they had become more strict in their grading.)
In addition to the above there were 20 veals sold for an average of $32.70 per hundred-weight and 21 yearlings .which sold for an average of $30.89 per cwt. The sale grossed the 28 consignors a ■total of $82,467.88.
