Representative Burr P. Harrison will take advantage of a recess of the House of Representatives next week to begin his annual visits to Rappahannock county communities.
“As in the past, I shall be happy to talk with any citizens about problems involving the Federal Government,” Mr. Harrison said. “I do not have any jurisdiction, of course, over such local matters as roads and schools”. _
With the exception of Washington, Mr. Harrison will meet Rappahannock residents at the post offices in the various communities of the county on Wednesday, September 12.
In Washington, he will be at the Court House at 10:50 a.m.

--WJenkins Gets 5 Years
In Assault on Officer
Ashby Jenkins, tried Wednesday in Culpeper court, accused of assault on the Deputy Sheriff of Culpeper, was given five years. 4 Ashby Jenkins is one of five to be tried in a case growing out of an altercation at the Horse Show in Culpeper, July 4, when C. Mason Green, deputy sheriff, was beaten while trying to make an arrest.
The case was heard before Judge Burnett Miller. .

IN FARM ACCIDENT
Franklin Settle had the misfortune to fall in front of a corn cutter last week, cutting his leg very sirously. He was rushed to Warren Memorial hospital by Walter Lillard. Franklin ■ Settle is an employee of Wade H. Massie, Jr., and works on the farm at Hampden Hall. His condition is reported to be satisfactory.
