CARVER NEWS
August 29, 1951. The faculty of George Washington Carver Regional High School, under the leadership of Divisional Superintendent, Mr. Paul H. Hounshell, and Principal Mr. Harvey A. Flesh mon, got off to an enthusiastic start, with great accomplishments in view for the school year.
Mr. Fleshmon, presiding over the meeting, introduced Miss Minnie J. Burton, Clerk of Culpeper County School Board, and Mrs. Esther P. White, Visiting Teacher for Culpeper County, both gave helpful information concerning thejr respective work. The remaining of the first session was carried on by Mr. Hounshell and Mr. Fleshmon, the former welcomed the teachers and went over the plans for the year.
The principal speaker for the second session was Dr. A. G. Richardson, Associate Supervisor of Elementary and Secondary Schools for the State of Virginia.
New members of the Carver staff are: M|ra. Sandra Mason, graduate of A and T College, Greensboro, North Carolina, instructor of English. (Home—Winston-Salem, N.C.) (Home — Bowling Green, Va.) Mr. Calvin H. Finlay, Saint Paul Polytechnic Institute, Instructor of Social Science (Home—Sturat, Florida). Superintendent of building and grounds, Mr. and Mrs. Miller Parker of Culpeper.
