County Dental Clinic
Begins September 7
Dr. George Fell and his assistant are coming to Sperryville elementary school tomorrow, Friday, September 7, to set up equipment for a dental clinic in the school.
This clinic is sponsored by the State Health Department. $600 has been raised for this work by citizens of the county; but there still remains a balance of $300 for necessary preliminary expens/es. Any contributions for this clinic may be made to Miss Ruby Jehkins, and will be greatly appreciated.
Dr. Fell’s hygienist will clean teeth and will give three topical fluoride treatments for $1.50 for any elementary school child. This arrangement will leave Dr. Fell free to do corrective work and each correction, such as a filling or extraction, will cost 50 cents. He will bring a fully equipped dental trailer, and will work from the Sperryville, Washington, and Flint Hill scohols. His work is being centered at these schools where running water is provided.
Dr. Fell has been the state dentist for the schools of Fauquier county for 14 years and his Fork has proved entirely satisfactory. He will still spend much of his time in the Fauquier schools. , Miss Mabel Todd, state nutritionist, will come to visit all of the /county schools to instruct teachers and children concerning the necessity of correct/diet and its relation to good dental health.
