Kfinal days of the Second Annual ■Clean-Up Campaign in the Town l)f Washington, Virginia by sending a cold spring rain. Since this 'dampened the spirits of citizens’ last minute improvement much 'that had been planned had to be delayed until more favorable weather. Due to this situation the local anonymous judge made its decsion on the basis of the biggest improvement in the past year Tather than on the biggest improvement in the last several weeks as had been announced.
Mr. and Mrs. Sisk deserve all the more credit for receiving the award when it is noted that their property extends from Main Street through to Gay Street and is seen «from both front and back. Viewed from either street it is the personification of neatness and enjoyed by all who see it.
Last Year this award was won by Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Massie, Jr. whose property is also situated on Main Street extending through to Gay Street. Is this a co-incidence or an indication that residents of Main and Gay Streets are more property conscious?
