Rhothane is effective against the codling moths, it is much more inferior to arsenaff of lead in killing the codling moth worms. Nor does Rhothane have the residual effect that arsenate of lead has. First Cover Sprays
In most seasons this spray, is important in controlling scab and rust diseases^ and it is also a time whet, there is danger of blotch infection. So it is necessary to continue tp use a* fungicide.
For this spray use ten pounds of flotation sulfur or six pounds of dry wettable sulfur, plus one pound of Ferbam in one hundred gallons, plus three pounds of lead arsenate anti one and one-half pounds of a 50% Rhothane powder. If mites arc present, use a miaicide in the spray. Now, then, if Rhothane was used in the petal-fall spray instead of lead arsenate, the Rhothane may be omitted in this spray if there is no evidence that leaf roller are present.
