Sperryville School Holds May Day, May 2
The May Day Festival will be presented. Sperryville School tomorrow, May 2, with two programs, one at 10 a.m. and another at 1:1S p.m.
The Program includes a ceremony of coronation of the queen of the May Day Festival, Miss Betty Johnson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. E .Johnson, Jr. Following the coronation will be a music program.
Pupils from all grade schools in the county will attend..
In the May^Tourt will be Mary Norman Davis as maid of honor; ■Reid Payne as king; Bobby Rutherford as prince; and princesses Margaret Ann Devers, Rosie Lee Airowood, Jane Nichols, Joan Scott, Caroletta Gough, Millie Sisk, Rachel Maney, and Jean Dwyer. Flower girls are Joan Fox and Louise Fletcher ( *
There will be a parade of the fivepointers i a May Day dance, a health skit, and stunts.
The music program will include “In Early April” by Schubert, a spiritual, and a Mexican cowboy song.

Mrs Hugh Gore, who has been ill for several days at the home of her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. B. M. Miller, was taken extremely ill Wednesday about one o’clock in the morning. Reports late Wednesday evening listed her condition as very serious.
G WHARTON IMPROVED Reports Wednesday from the hospital states that Gilbert Wharton is improved in health. The family was called Saturday when his condition seemed worse, and members of the family have made daily visits to see him.
