FFA Awards Given;
Officers Elected
At the May meeting of the Rappahannock Chapter Future Farmers of America awards for the year were presented and officers elected for the coming year. The Chapter operates under the direction of Vo-Ag instructor F. S. Boze. John Woodward of Castleton received the Golden Hammer Award, a plague with a golden hammer on it, which is given for outstanding work in shop. The Dekalb Agricultural Accomplishment award went to Eddie Flock of Amissville. A pin and certificate given by the Dekalb Corn Company for accomplishment in agriculture, and received $5.00 from the FFA Chapter. Thomas Atkins, Sperryvill^, was given a $5.00 scholarship award, and Eugene Frye of Flint Hill received the award for Citizenship, also $5.00. The Star Greenhand award, given to a first year student, was won by James Shaw of Amissville. This was $5.00. Officers electedfor the 196566 school session were president, Jimmie Latham; vice president, Earl Yancey; secretary, Dunae Williams; treasurer, Billy Johnson; reporter, Lawrence Ricnker; sentinel, James Shaw.
