For most people, the natural result of modern conveniences and increased automation is a sedentary existence. The National Recreation Association annually sponsors National Recreation Month
and mutter “never again”. After all, some of us have left our Daniel Boone ancestry so far behind that living outof-doors has very little appeal.
The misfortune of timing your first camping experience with a week of rainy and cold weather, or with an outbreak of insects, can be a discouraging experience. However, if you don’t believe that camping can be fun over the Ttmg run, just ask a few of the six million who camp regularly what they think about it. Mom is certain to retain the job of cooking the meals and cleaning up. Cheer up, ladies! You no longer have to worry about cooking over an open fire. There are a wide variety of camp stoves on the market that make the cooking chore just about as simple as on the home range. The manufacturers still haven't come up with an automatic dishwasher for use in the campground, but most families remember how to wash dishes by hand. And remember, if you’re looking for an activity and interest that will draw your entire family together, it’s hard to improve on the family camping experience.
