Rappahannock County has been involved in a suit for the past two years to establish the boundary of the county where it borders the counties of Madison and Culpeper. Three commissioners were appointed from each county to study the boundary situation. Last week thecommissioners filed a report together with maps in the Circuit Courts of each county, recommending that the boundary line be left as it now stands. The line was established in 1792.
The boundary commissioners studied a survey made by R. M. Bartenstein and Associates of Warrenton who had been employed by Rappahannock County. They also visited points along the boundary and studied old land records and maps before drawing their conclusions. Eight of the nine commissioners agreed on the line as established in 1792. D. D. Miller of Rappahannock was the only dissenting member and he has filed a minority report.
The conclusion of the commission was “that these lines represent the boundary lines as they have been accepted by the respective counties since
