The <965 Rappahannock 4-H Educational Tour will be held on Wednesday, June 9, to Washington, D. C. Our schedule is as follows; (Time is Daylight Saving or Fast Time).
7;00 a. m. Assemble at County Agent’s Office, Washington, Virginia. 7; 15 a. m. Leave by Chartered Bus. 9:00 a. m. Tour Mount Vernon, Home of George Washington.
10-.30 a. m. Visit Washington National Airport.
12;00 Noon Eat lunch in Smithsonian area.
12:30 - 3:00 Tour two of the Smithsonian buildings. 3;30 p. m. Visit Jefferson or Lincoln Memorial. 4;30 p. m. Leave for Washington, Virginia. 6:30 p. m. Arrive back in Washington, Virginia. The cost of the trip will be $3.00 per person. This includes bus fare, admission to Mount Vernon, and soft drink for lunch. Everyone must bring a bag lunch. Applications and $3.00 fee should be sent to Jane Kilby by June 3. There are only 46 seats still available, so persons interested in making the tour should send their fee immediately.
“Combing the New With the Old in Home Furnishings” is the program topic for the Rappahannock County home de monstration clubs for June. This program will be presented to the following clubs-. Sperryville, June 3 at 8 p.m. at the home of Mrs. Allen Stokes. Amissville, June 7, at 7:30 p. m. at the Amissville Firehall.
Woodville, June 10 at 2;00 p. m. at the home of Misses Nellie and Lillie Johnson. Chester Gap, June 10 at7:30 p. m. at the Chester Gap Firehall. The Rappahannock County Arts and Crafts Committee will hold their June meeting on the 8th at 10:00 a. m. at Cab Inn in Sperryville.
