The Warren-Rappahannock Public School System will hold its Mid-Year Conference at the WarrerfCounty High School Saturday, February 19. The session will open at 9:00 o’clock with H. G. Leonard, Jr., Director of Instruction presiding. After the welcome by O. A. Norton, Division Superintendent, the pledge of Allegiance and the singing of America, devotions will be led by the Rev. William Harrison, pastor, Reynolds Memorial Baptist Church, Sperryville. At 9:30 a.m. Dr. John Leahy, Associate Professor, School of Education, University of Virginia will speak on "Trends in Education Today".. Following a break when refreshments will be served by the Warren County School Home Economics Dept, the High School Teachers will meet in the Library. Dr. John E. Mesinger, Co-ordinator, Training Program, Emotional Disturbed Children, The Curry Memorial School of Education, University of Virginia will address the group on the subject, “The Classroom Teacher’s Approach to Helping Disturbed Children”, followed by a discussion period. At the same time, the Elementary Teachers will meet in the Auditorium and hear a talk on “The Scott-ForesmknReading Series - Practical Suggestions for Its Use”, by Miss Susan Moorlag, Consultant, Scott-Foresman Company, also followed by a discussion period.
