Miss Nancy Latham of Amissville, Va. anfi Miss Linda Auville of McAndrews, Ky. are representing Berea College, Berea, Ky. in a Southern Student Exchange Program this week at Smith College, Northhampton, Mass. For one week the two Berea women will attend classes, discussions and teas. Their schedule will be aimed at presenting a substantial crosssection df Smith's academic and social life. A meeting with Smith’s president is also planned. The two were chosen for the exchange on the basis of written application and an interview with thfe Women's Council. Statements from the written applications follow. Nancy, a senior English major, in speaking of what she expects to gain from the program, says, "I would expect to t>e able, through stepping outside the south for the purpose af learning, to experience more totally the temperament if our nation by listening to what another region has to say ibout mutual Problem#."
