The snow siurm.. of recent, weeks is still taking its toll here as packed snow and ice cause traffic incidents now that people are beginning to resume travel. A number of! accidents, most of them caused by slidingand skidding,! have been reported by inves-, tigating officers. Two traffic collisions were! reported on Route 622, the Harris Hollow road, Sunday, February 6, as the result of icy roads, and one accident was reported on that road! Friday. Jefferson Washington Schwartz of Springfield, operating a 1964 Dodge station wagon, collided with a 61 Chevrolet operated by Richard B. Spindle III of Norfolk, according to Trooper J. B. Willis. Joyce Ellis Schwartz sustained a bruised forehead and Jefferson Ellis Schwartz, 5, had his front teeth knocked out. Damage was estimated at $250 to the Dodge and $500 to the Chevrolet. No charges were made. Two 65 Ford Mustangs collided later the same day on the same road just a short distance from the scene of the first accident. Gretchen Luisa Ritter of Madison, N. J. and Laura Kathryne Bruce of Culpeper met after the Bruce car negotiated a curve, applied the brakes and skidded into the path of the other vehicle. The view on the road was poor due to high snow banks. There were no injuries and no ! charges were made. Trooper W, A. Buntin investigated a two-car crash Friday on the Harris Hollow Road. Ijame8 A. Fincham of Washington, Va. operating a 65 jFord pickup skidded into a 66 Volkswagen operated by Mrs. Mary Anna Boze of Sperryville when they met on a narrow stretch of road. There were no injuries and no charges were made. Damage j to the Boze car was estimated at $100 and $50 to the pickup.
