ine mountains of the county have been in top glory. One morning the Old Rag loomed right in your face! The whole ridge seemed to tower straight ai>ove you and so close you could reach out and touch it. After a 45-minute blizzard one day 50 cars got stuck on the mountain, but "it's an ill wind that blows nobody good," and an enterprising young man of the county just filled the back of his car up with chains and went up the mountain to their rescue - and to the betterment of his business. He had the chains for sale, so why not take advantage of the occasion. Yes, Joe, the local boys are still industrious and pretty Sharp of wit when U comes to turning an extra penny.* The glamorous snow, with its magnificent beauty, was soon slush on the highways, and with a couple of warm days following, the mud roads were in condition to improve your vocabulary if not your disposition. Some of the local boys went to the Mardi Gras. They reported a fine time, and probably didn’t get into any more mischief than usual. One of the fellows whipped the others down by being able to get in at 6 o’clock in the morning and be rarin’ to go by 8, with only two hours sleep. Coming back on the plane, a few of them saw some rough riding. When one of the boys undertook to tease another about crashing, the answer came back quick enough, "That's all right, I’m 25 years older than you are and that means I've had 25 more years than you’ll get a whack at."
