Our country's history is of great importance to us all. A knowledge of what our forefathers did gives us a better understanding and love for our country as it is today. Our heritage is still a living, throb bing thing, and we should not forget that it will always remain a part of us. We, the people of the most powerful nation on earth are still following the roads where our forefathers walked. The Pilgrims laid a foundation for freedom and faith which has been passed from one generation to the other. This country of ours started to grow with its’ thirteen colonies which spread out along the shores of the Atlantic Ocean, gradually reach ing inland; the New England Golonies, the Middle Colonies, then the Southern Colonies. They meant to be independent and free.
