\ Tools, cash, meat and other' Items with a total value in excess of $400 were taken from Rappahannock County High School early Friday morning. Vandals broke the glass in a side door, unlocked it and entered the building. The robbery was discovered by Alvin Atkins, custodian, when he arrived at work.

According to a report filed by Sheriff Charles K. Estes, after entrance to the building was gained, the glass in several other doors were broken and the door to the principal’s office prized open. A drink machine was emptied of its change, hamburger was taken from the kitchen, locks were broken on the ice cream box and four empty milk owrtons were found on the floor. The new Vo-Ag shop was entered and numerous tools and equipment were missing. A camera and some cash were also taken. Trooper J. B. Willis lifted fingerprints from some objects and foot prints showed plainly in the snow which had fallen earlier. Deputy John Walker Jenkins and Deputy Ernest Lillard also assisted with the investigation.

A similar breakin the same night in Madison County and it is possible the two may be connected.

Cheater Gap Will Get New Ambulance

_ The Chester Gap Volunteer Fire Department has ordered a 1967 Ford ambulance, according to Fire Chief Joe Williams. The vehicle will be fully equpped with red lights, siren, stretchers and oxygen, and should arrived within the next four weeks. It will be ready for service upon arrival, said Chief Williams.

County Fire Assoc. Meets Friday

The Rappahannock County Fire Association meeting for February will be held Friday February 17 beginning at 7;30 p.m. at the Trinity Episcopal Church parish hall with Washington Fire Company as host. Represents t i v e s from each county fire department are urged to attend.
