Public Health Nursing is a combination of health teaching and service to individuals, families, and groups in their own environment, in the following ways: 1. Interpretation ind assistance in carrying through physicians’ recommendations. 2. Instruction and nursing care to expectant mothers, babies, preschool and school children. 3. Interpretation and assistance to patients and their families regarding tuberculosis, rheumatic fever, orthopedic diseases and chronic diseases. 4. Assistance in rehabilita- tion. 5. Cooperation and working with other official and voluntary agencies. i For the last fiscal year endling June 30, 1966 a total of ! 1509 visits were made by the . Rappahannock County Public Health Nurse. The nurse also arranged and assisted in local Health Department clinics ! where 175 persons received !immunizations, 85 persons had chest x-rays and 34 mothers and babies were given | e x a m i n a tion.
