Culpeper Hospital

Receives $4000 Check

Ralph H. De Rubbo, President of Rochester Ropes, Inc., presented John D. Phillips, Administrator of Culpeper Me morial Hospital with a check for 54,000. Mr. De Rubbo said that this was the second payment on a $14,000 gift pledged by the wire rope manufacturing firm on the current building drive of the hospital. Mr. Phillips said that the Rochester Ropes gift was the largest industrial gift in the current drive for $160,000 to expand the facilities of the hospital. The $14,000 gift will enable Culpeper Memorial Hospital to build and outfit the new out-patient waiting room. “We are pleased to support this worthwhile program and the Culpeper community of which our company has been an integral part for the past 25 years," Mr. De Rubbo said. Mr. Phillips said that with the exception of a few items in each area, the following areas have been completed: the new emergency room with portico for unloading patients, the new dining room, the new physical therapy department, the out-patient waiting room, a family room and Chapel. Just as soon as the areas are completed and all the equipment has been received, the hospital will occupy these new areas. When the new areas are occupied, work will begin on converting the old out-patient operating room to a second major operating room.
