west remained unchanged. A| September 15-October 14 early squirrel season was approved for Campbell County which makes it conform to seasons in Franklin and Pittsylvania Counties. The early squirrel season in Craig County was dropped making it open with the season on National Forest lands. An October 1-March 10 rac coon season was adopted for Albemarle,' Greene and Madi son Counties in place of the continuous open season which had been in effect. A proposal to open the raccoon season in Craig County on November 20 making it coincide with the season on the National Forest was rejected, leaving Craig with the same raccoon season it had last year. The beaver trapping season was shortened to a January 1 through February 15 period. A closed season on beavers was approved for Clarke Coun ty. Mink were removed from the list of game which may be hunted, and the use of 10 inch square body gripping traps was restricted to water sets in areas with beaver or otter trapping seasons to reduce the incidence of non-furbearing
