Flower Show Jane 9
“Fairy Tales” will be the theme of the flower show sched tiled for June 9, 1967 in the Sperryville Flementary School auditorium. The show is sponsored by the Rappahannock County Carden Club and will be open from 2 until 9 p. m. The flower show will have three exhibit groups, Fducational, Horticultural and Artistic, with classes and sub-j classes in each.
exhibits in the educationalj group will be conservation and native plants or trees. The Horticultural exhibits will be six classes including; Peonies, eilies, Iris, Hoses,j Rock Carden Material and Afri-1 can Violets. Subjects of the Artistic Classes are Thumbelina, Cinderella, Jack and the Beanstalk, Sleeping Beauty and others. In these, imagination knows no bounds. A class for participation by men only is Snow White and Rose Red. Little Red Riding Hood is exclusively for young people under 16 years of age, and a novice class will be open to all exhibitors who have not previously won a blue ribbon.
Sleeping Beauty has been designated specifically as an open invitation to neighboring Carden Clubs. Blue, red and yellow ribbons and honorable mention may be given in all classes, and a tri-color in all but one of the Abtistic classes. A sweepstakes ribbon, which is the award for blue ribbon points, will be awarded in the Horticultural and Artistic Croups. Anyone wishing to exhibit in the show should contact Mrs. C. E.
