Classes will be taught by professional foresters from the sponsoring companies and the Virginia Division of Forestry and will include such subjects as fire control, reproducing the forest, forest management, tree identification, insects and tree diseases, ecology, wood preservation and timber harvesting and processing. A class in wildlife management will also be taught by a game biologist from the Commission of Game and Inland Fisheries. There will be plenty of time, however, for athletics and other recreation activities such as swimming, fishing, boating, baseball, volley ball, horseshoe pitching and evening camp fire programs. Vesper services are held nightly with the boys taking part in the program.
Lessons learned, friends made and the good times had at Holiday Lake are not soon forgotten and many a camper has wished that he could make a second trip to the camp.
