The additional funds provided by the 1964 and 1966 sessions of the General Assembly account for $10,346,37 of the total for secondary roads. This is distributed to the 96 counties in the State on the basis of the needs in each county as they relate to needs in the State as a whole.
Also available for the coming year, but not included in the secondary total, is $1,500,000 for industrial access roads to new or expanding industries. Other appropriations, included in the total but not in the county breakdowns, provide district bridge funds of $100,000 to each of the eight highway districts for replacanimals
getting into them accidentally.
A special Sika deer season was approved for the Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge on Assateague with October 11 through 14 dates for archers only and October 20 and 21 for archers and shotgunners. The bag limit will remain one per season.
