Cream bittter and sugar until light and fluffy. Blend in vanilla. Beat in eggs, one at a time. Blend flour into mixture alternately with milk. Stir in jam. Bake in preheated 350° oven, 25 - 35 minutes, or until done. Cool 10 minutes before removing from pan. Cool completely on wire racks before filling and frosting. Prepare pudding mix according to instructions on package; cool. Stir in pecans and refrigerate until ready to use. Fill layers and frost top of cake with butterscotch-pecan filling. Frost sides and onehalf inch border on top with whipped cream.
