Questions have been popped lately about livestock. First was about controlling lice on Beef Cattle. Seems this is a humdinger of a year for lice. Everyone has’em, that is all their cattle. V.P.I. recommends Malathion or Coumaphos sprays. Details are as follows. MALATHION: Use 6 1/2 ix. of 57% malathion emulsion concentrate (1 gal. contains 5 lbs of malathion) to 5 gals, of water. Larger quantities of spray can be prepared by mixing 1 gal. of the emulsion concentrate in 100 gals, of water. (Wettable powder forms of malathion can be used in highpressure power sprayers,
but are not satisfactory, J in low pressure, hand-operatj ed sprayers.) CAUTION: Do not treat sick animals or calves less than 1 month old. SAFETY PRECAUTIONS: See “Keys to Proper Use of PpflfIrlHpfl * ! RESIDUE TOLERANCE: 4.0 ppm in meat and meat byproducts.
